Patience Manhovo is a community development expert with over 5 years of experience working on gender-related issues in a development context.
Her skills and experience lie in raising awareness of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) in affected communities and supporting survivors and those at risk of FGM, including building the capacity to reject FGM and supporting frontline professionals in assessing risks and responding to FGM.
Her research interests lie in Gender, Global health, Harmful Cultural Practices, and ending violence against women and girls.
Her current research in Zimbabwe is exploring the links between different forms of violence against women and girls (including FGM) with the potential to argue for a more holistic and mainstreaming/integrating approach to HIV programming.
