Professor Tamsin Bradley is an applied social anthropologist working in international development. She has been working with the University of Portsmouth since 2011.
Professor Bradley holds a Bachelor’s degree in Politics and the Study of Religion, an MA in Social Anthropology of Development, and a PhD from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) at the University of London. She also holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from the University of Cambridge.
In 2006, her PhD thesis, “Challenging the NGOs: Women, Religion and Western Dialogues in India”, was published as a book by Bloomsbury Academic.
Her main research interest is in ending violence against women and girls and promoting social inclusion. Her research is funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) and the British Academy.
She is also working with Plan International on a project to end violence against children in South Sudan.
