In this theme, we will be looking at methods and theory related to gender and violence against women. We will introduce some of the important concepts and existing knowledge related to women’s economic engagement and violence against women, and will then discuss elements of an analytical framework that was developed and put to use in the Women, Work and Violence in South Asia project. The project approach is then explained.
As a major activity for this theme you are invited to identify relevant stakeholders for a country of your choice, and consider the types of roles these stakeholders play. How might they influence the successful implementation of new policies and practices aimed at reducing violence against women?
