Introduction
This unit draws on the findings from the research and leads us to considering how policy and practice can best be influenced. It introduces us to the idea of a ‘theory of change’ starting by explaining what it is, and why it is important.
We are then introduced to a new ‘Theory of Change’ presented in the form of an animation, which draws on earlier material from this short course, and leads us through from an understanding of the context and how the ethnographic model is useful, to producing a visual representation of a theory of change that seeks to explain what we should focus on in order to reduce violence against women engaged in different forms of work.
There is then some discussion of how the ‘Theory of Change’ can be used, and this is explored by reference to the Myanmar, Nepal, and Pakistan contexts, and you are invited to consider how it could be used elsewhere and to what extent some adaptation may be needed.
Finally, the unit presents some self-assessment questions and a summary of the key points.
